Just Because )

Just because slave2tehtink is the only person to comment on Anachronistic Surreallity One.

Some fence mending today, repairing two places where bovines tested barbed wire strands either to parting or simply stretching. The simply stretched one, however, when I applied a tightening twist, snapped. Either a combination or one solo factor, Bull did stress it, or I twisted just a shade too much. Probably the latter, being honest. At any rate, both spots mended and a couple others touched up.

Laundry done.

Sound like an exciting day?

Nah, didn't think so.

Variations on a Theme )

Bit of play, actually, being still groggy from working Midnights last night and four hours sleep today. Still what's the purpose of learning things if not to enjoy some fun while playing?

Getting on time for dinner here.

Not Exactly Pic'o'Day, but Pic'o'Day Nonetheless... )

I've posted this one before, which is why it isn't exactly the Pic'o'Day. Here are the questions/reason why I'm posting it again.

Suzie's Family Christmas Tree )

Some time ago for a short time I owned a Baby Crown Graflex, sheet film medium format camera. Quite interesting, almost sorry I traded it away (but not quite). At the time I owned it, one of my friends' family was in the tradition of putting up a very interesting Christmas tree. Not an evergreen, and a live tree, which they kept outside through Spring, Summer, and Fall (and truly, even part of Winter). After it shed its leaves and nearing Yule they brought it in and decorated it.

This image is a time exposure using Kodak Tri-X film. I racked the focus knob totally out to Infinity, locked the shutter open on bulb for about 5 seconds and gently turned the focus knob through the extent from out of focus to in and out again at the other extreme.

First things first, I suppose, woke up this morning around 05:15 thinking It's a weekend, I don't need to wake up yet. What woke me up? No cats on my chest, dogs quiet. Then I heard a distant rumble of thunder. Ah, sez I to Myself, the rain is arriving. And Myself sez, Any moment now you're going to hear Houdini getting into his den. And we did. About a half hour later, when Madame Queen Mary Kitteh made sure of my wakefulness by kneadie-paw over my bladder, I also saw lightning flashes while using the facilities.

So I spent the rest of the morning enjoying my coffee, watching the Weather Channel on Sky TV (when the rain didn't interfere with reception), and working on some photographs. As usual I'm putting them behind a cut, because hey, I've got the Bandwidth Blues here on the Old, Rural, North Central Baja Jorja dial-up connection, even if you don't.

I've worked on a couple other pieces over the weekend as well. Those aren't ready to post yet. I just had to get something up, though. Been feeling a need lately.
