I'm going to go feed the Bros in a short bit, then clean up and start getting ready for dinner. The Faire closes at 18:00, Herself expects to be back to the Ranch sometime between 19:00 and 20:00. Maybe to the earlier part of that because I think she wants to see the kids.

Speaking of the kids, apparently when the Bros were 'disappearing' from sight while we kept an eye on the new additions, they were quite busy here at teh House. I never cease to be amazed at the things Border Collies can learn to do. Nick the cards right out of my cameras, upload to the PC and then upload to the Web. Ya. I'm impressed. But if you want to see pictures of some of the new kids, follow that link.

Not sure if yesterday (or Sunday as well, apparently) the DDOS attack on LJ affected this, but I am not able to post photos from Flickr here. Alas and alack, that means I can't show you this, here.

Blue skies, nothin' but blue skies...
This is what we kept an eye on the new kids under this past Sunday, here in North Central Baja Jorja. Yes, the Goats are Kidding. Srsly! Follow the link to see, and in case the link doesn't work copy and past the URL

Weekend

Herself spent yesterday with the Shire Amurgorod at the Williston Peanut Festival. Considering that they weren't required to pay for booth space, the Shire did well with their fundraiser (Shoot an Armoured Fighter with an Arrow!), and Herself sold some beeswax candles and earrings.

Myself, I picked up replacement windshield wipers for all vehicles (installed Sydney SubaruOutback's already), returned parts not necessary for Forrest NissanPickup. Oh, the parts are needed, but we also need to get the truck into the shop; I'm not inclined to spend time I'd rather spend on other projects working on internal combustion systems.

I also put together another goat maternity pen. We learned last year that maternity pens are a good thing to discourage Coyote from shopping for fresh kid. However, the method we used last year resulted in a pen too large, and requiring rather more maintenance than desired. So a slightly different method this year, using 'wire clips' (u-bolts of a small variety) to hold the combo panels together. I am also experimenting with several smaller pens, though not tiny. Each panel is 4.8 m (16') long. Putting six of them together in a hexagonal shape provides enough space for two to three does plus kids, and keeps them close enough to foster the overall herd feeling even though they're in somewhat smaller 'herd-letts' in each pen.

Today, we may try rounding up the three does we're quite certain are near term. Hey, [livejournal.com profile] maybebabies, wanna help?
