Independence Day

Today is Independence Day in the US of A and therefor also here in North Central Baja Jorja. Yesterday when I took Herself into Williston for a bit of shopping (Ace Hardware - what, ladies, you don't like hardware stores? - and Winn Dickey) we encountered a crowd of people setting up seating on either side of the Main Drag. What? Oh, yes, the Fourth of July Parade, on the Third. Good thing that first off the Parade hadn't started yet and that we know back roads. Not that we wouldn't of liked watching the parade, simply we wanted to do other things.
While in the grocery store, it Rained on the Parade. Right. Welcome to Summer in North Central Baja Jorja. Didn't seem to dampen any spirits, even if it did dampen some people.
Still and all, the reason for today's Pic'o'Day. In '04 I purchased my first digital, a Nikon CoolPix 4300 point and shoot. It lasted less than six months, for various reasons, and I'm a bit sad about that. Rather happy about the photographs it made, however. Joined chaosloki and her husband and girls plus J's brother S & K for the show, set up the tripod and the 4300 and got good results using the 'Fireworks' menu selection.
Today will be off to S & K's for burgers and dogs on the grill. Herself is contributing home-grown corn on cob and tomatoes, plus we're bringing a watermelon. This for my one day off from Hospital this weekend.
