Ah, Weekend

I've a truly horrible dial-up connection this morning, on the order of 28.8 kbps. Anyone remember kbps? At any rate, no looking at photos this morning. However, might be better later. We'll see.

Lots of the usual for a weekend, Morning and Evening Rounds on teh Ranch. Herself made the feed run yesterday, while she was out I seated a rake head in a new handle for her. Such things are my contribution to her Garden, tool maintenance. ::nods:: Apparently taking care of the Implements of Gardening does not transfer my Black Thumb. Then we unloaded feed, which totally bothered the Cows because they didn't get another breakfast.

Then we ate lunch, and after lunch we cleaned up a bit and hied ourselves off to Sam's in Ocala for staples. We also side-tracked a wee bit, swinging past the Paddock Mall where Herself wanted to find something called an Electric Cigarette. It's curious; size, shape of a filtered cigarette. Rechargeable battery in the length of the body, little glowy red LED tip, and the filter takes a substance. Operate like a cigarette (other than, yanno, not touching the thing with a lighter, eh?) and ... exhale a cloud of 'smoke' which is primarily water vapour. Herself is trying to quit smoking, related to blood pressure, meds, family history, and such.

She's tried it, and for the evening I saw her smoke two actual cigarettes (not excessive for an evening). Her comment is that if she lights an actual cigarette up after using the Electric one, the actual tastes nasty. Maybe there's hope? We'll see.

Other acquisitions at the Mall included some Jefferson Airplane (rather than Jefferson Starship) music, and a half dozen on-sale digital cameras attached to keychains. We've got that many relatives/friends graduating from high school this month. Whoa. Wait a minute, little niece D is a high school graduate?

Um, yes.

Also... Score from the Used Music section of the store, Time on Earth, Crowded House (::waves Hi Fizzy)!

Home and burgers for dinner, really more like ground sirloin steak sandwiches as the burger is near excessively lean. Well, we knew that to be likely while it was still stored on the hoof; our cows are primarily range-fed with supplemental, and that supplemental truly is a small portion of their diet. Possibly moreso during the winter, but not by a lot.

Today, a bit more cleanup, odds and ends, and laundry.

Is a pleasantly odd thing. Went through a phase where I listened to music via radio yet wasn't making note of artists. Then my mate fizzylizard mentioned them, and sent along a link to some MP3's. I'd said to Fizzy I didn't recongise the name. When listening though, I was O Hai, I knows this one! And this one! *G*

I shall be watching Herself's E-Cigarette adventures with interest. I have considered trying the bugger as a stop-smoking aid myself. I wish they made a "smokeless" version though, as such a thing would be immensely handy on, say, 7 hr flights to England.
