In a conversation last week, during lunch, someone who modeled for me once expressed discontent with those photographs being shown. I reminded them they signed a contract/release. I reminded them they received recompense for their time. In that order. I did not mention that if they didn't want their image displayed publicly, they could of commissioned the work. Different rules apply.

Still and all, those images are being retired. It is far less hassle for me to do so. The work comprises one session. It is less than a major portion of my body of work, and the one portion of the set which I may feel quite strongly about showing some time I can re-create, with different energy, with a different model.

This person is not a professional model. This carries some bearing on the issue. Images retired. End of discussion.

End of grump.

Hmm - was it a prints-for-modelling deal?

Primarily, yes, though there is also, always, an exchange of monetary value in all my live model sessions. In this case two different denominations. The contract/release forms I use are patterned after land contracts, i.e. "for $x in hand and other valuable consideration..:" Non-nude work says $1.00 and nude work $2.00.

For nude model work, each model receives a $2 US bill plus whatever else. As long as they lasted, when I started the Healing Art project (related to breast cancer) I also gave each model involved $2 NZ which I brought back from our holiday there. In her case both, plus prints. Since she wants the work withdrawn, that means the Healing Art work is also retired. All the proceeds from sales of the Healing Art work are given to a designated breast cancer fund. Now, in this case, that is no longer possible.

Ya made the right choice. Now, you can put him/her behind you and let them stew in their own juices. :o)

Wouldn't it be nice if people would read a contract, understand all its implications, and only then, sign it? It's one of the many things I'd put into school curricula if I had the power. That, where your food really comes from, what being a parent really means (instead of the fairy tale some parents tell), which should kill some accidental pregnancy danger right there.

We all sign contracts, it really ought to be something explained to us while we're in school and supposed to listen and demonstrate understanding.

your contract is so clear and you are so professional and considerate. I am surprised at this model's reaction. Odd that the model was ocmfortable with it then, but not now. Lifestye change or not,the model agreed to your ownership and usage of the images. I am really sorry that happened
