Today is [livejournal.com profile] aineotter Day! May there be Salmon! and More Salmon!

In other news (which I will include in this post, because [livejournal.com profile] aineotter will appreciate it so much) we are experiencing both some of the coldest and bitterest weather we ever get, and the goats are kidding. Srsly! We are up to nine kids so far, and all alive so far, and the high temperature today didn't clear the 40's F / 5 C (or so) with brisk and blustery winds from the north north-west.

It is going to get quite cold tonight.

So of course, the goats are kidding.

When I was a kid (ha-ha), Dad took care of a herd of sheep for the owner of the property we lived on, as well as being grondskeeper. Now that you mention it, the sheep would drop lambs during the rainiest, nastiest weather possible, too. (This was north of San Francisco.) But Dad grew up on a ranch, so it was no surprise to him.

Yah, we've been through this with them before, ranging from hurricane/tropical storm through hard freeze and freeze with rain. No surprise to us, either. We actually planned on it this time.

I did get salmon, thank you! :)
Both salmon nigiri and seared. Also tuna. yum!

And I'm glas the kids are doing ok, even if it's cold there. It's not so cold here but of course rainy and usually dark.
