I do wonder what you'll see up there tonight. I remember it went down to about 18 or 19 degrees during the late 70's in G'ville and I personally haven't seen that kind of cold since in Florida. But then, I don't live in Gainesburger or Tallarassee.
Here in north Pinellas, our house is only about 1/3 mile from the Gulf but I've already lost half of the blossoms on my Glenn mango tree from the last freeze two weeks ago. We're getting a lot of wind tonight. I have the MGA's old car cover on the windward, undamaged side of the tree (pushed to the top by my sailboat's sprit pole and tied by lines) and two trouble lights plugged into extension cords underneath for heat. Here's hoping I get to eat at least ONE FREAKIN' MANGO. Finally. After 12 years and four major freezes...
Apparently, we did not reach the record, though we probably did hit the temps you cite in some low-lying spots.
We've got some citrus trees Herself's mother gifted us when we got the Big House. So... 13 years now. This year is the first time we got fruit, from the 3 survivors of the 6 originals...
