I started to record Moulin Rouge yesterday evening (joys of DVR), and managed to drop in to watch the first 15 minutes or so. Then I bounced out to watch something else briefly, and came back on the theory that perhaps it improved.

Cancelled the recording and deleted what was recorded.

Truly, the joys of DVR.

No kidding -- I could not make it thru that one, either.

*G* Did you buy the DVD? Or try to watch via some other provision. I'm chuckling because I saw your Free DVD post. Too late to claim anything but did see it.

I may give it a try again; I'm a fan of 'strange, wierd, quirky' movies. For example, I like Pulp Fiction though Herself isn't. And there's others on that list. Lots of others.

Oh, hell, yes, I bought it. In fact, it was the DVD that prompted my occasional giveaways, I couldn't even stand having it around.

Have you seen Jackie Brown? I like it better than Pulp Fiction, although it has much the same vibe.

Borrow the DVD from someone sometime and watch the El Tango de Roxanne scene (have said someone find out where it is on the disc, I suppose). It's my favorite song from the movie (though I like Beck's cover of Bowie's Diamond Dogs, too) and very intense. I think you'd enjoy it.

I may be willing to give the whole thing a look another time; and I'm willing to allow there may be parts of it which are entertaining. I may not have been ready for it yesterday... wait, this is me talking. You know, the guy who likes First Nudie Musical!

Honestly, I'm not suggesting that you give the movie a second chance, even just to catch those potential good bits. Especially considering that if I did, I'd have to give Porky's a second chance and I'd rather die first.

I'm just saying that that particular scene was my favorite scene in the movie and that you might enjoy it yourself.

I would never insist that you give Porky's any kind of a viewing... *G*

No, second chance is on my list, in part because I do like strange movies.

Isn't it a dire overrated little film? I was so disappointed.

I was... I am... unimpressed.

Considering it was a Baz Luhrmann (sp?) film too. I adored Romeo & Juliet.

LOL! But, I'm not sure I can stick around that long before... no, we won't go there.
