I just received the strangest e-mail from my sister, who is also a nurse and lives in Rapid City, South Dakota. Now, they don't live in town at all, but they're also not near any watercourse. And she saw five otters bouncing around in the woods behind their house with a white buffalo...

I was going to make some smart-ass comment about them visiting some event in South Dakota. So I did a Google search for "South Dakota Events", and ended up here:

And the joke wrote itself. There are no events in South Dakota. Makes me wonder why they call the city "Rapid". ;-)

Yeah, not a lot happens in South Dakota. But on the other hand, we're not sure if the otters list Buddha-con on the Web.

The big event for the northern Black Hills (including RC) is the Sturgis Bike Rally. It occurs in August and involves several hundred thousand bikers. Some of them are even otters!
