Seems We've Made the News

It seems that my part of Baja Jorja made the national news yesterday and today. I've been asked by a couple people what I know about it. Not a lot that you don't. Yes, several of the people involved wound up at my hospital. Not only haven't I taken care of them, even if I had I couldn't tell you much.

Like the rest of those paying any attention to this, I truly would like to know how one can not see a Big, Yellow, Flashing Lights School Bus in time to stop. I'll stay uncommitted for the time being, but I'm saying, I gotta wonder.

I know some areas already have laws against it, but I am not certain if we have them in our neck of Baja Jorja. If he was on the phone while this occurred, I will happily join the push for a law on this. If you can afford a cell phone and must converse while driving, you can afford a freakin' headset. Or do what I do and hand the phone to your kids in the backseat.

It's simple...if you can't drive and talk don't do it. People need to know their limitations.

That and the news in Tampa said that he's gotten ticketed before for reckless driving and what not like 3 times before.

Russ found a link to an interesting website (I don't have it, unfortunately). Seems that the manager of a store which is near an intersection that has a lot of accidents realized that they had a security camera facing said intersection. So he started looking at the tapes whenever there was a wreck. In every single instance where the at-fault driver could be seen, he or she was on a cellphone.

Not that I find this in any way surprising.
