Now, I'd like to show you why I so enjoy coming back here for the fall seminar and conference that the Washington State Council of Perioperative Nurses puts on.

Mt. Ranier Mt. Ranier

Leaving Tacoma, after dropping my friend's dogs off at the kennel, Mt. Ranier came out from behind some clouds.

I did not have much time to snag some photos; we were driving and I could see roadside trees coming up.
Cascades Cascades

Approaching Snoqualmie Pass.
Columbia River Columbia River

Just before the highway north from Wenatchee curves away from the Columbia, over the ridge to Lake Chelan, are these two rocky knobs between roadway and river.

The view from my room's balcony, after checking into Campbell's Resort.

Looking more north along the lake from my balcony.
Lake Chelan Sunset Lake Chelan Sunset

Thursday sunset from my balcony. Campbell's is on the eastern shore of the lake.
Lake Chelan Sunrise Lake Chelan Sunrise

Saturday morning just before dawn. East is behind me.

Looking north along the lake again.

So, do you see why I like this place?

Lucky bastard... ;-)

Seeing shots like that makes me A) miss the lakes and mountains and B) miss PHOTOGRAPHING the lakes and mountains. Great composition on that "Lake Chelan Morning" shot.

Yes it is. I keep intending to plan a trip that allows me more free time here for exploration and photography. Now, I chuckle at myself when I say that, because this is only the third time here, and always for the same conference which is a "busman's holiday" for me.

Still, I do believe next year...

Oh, I don't know. Some places acquire "always" status really fast. Long Beach is like that for IHG and me...although after we had a rather awful trip there in a snowstorm last year and discovered how closed down everything is for the winter, we rethought our hope to live there someday.

It surely would be great to plan more time to explore the area! The resort looks great. Maybe IHG and I could plan a mini-vacation as well and meet you for a few days, even though you'd be busy most of the time.
