While the power lasts. Checked the National Hurricane site, Community Zoe, Live Journal, AORN, then back to Live Journal. I've posted an update to my Journal, and comments to several other postings/comments there to.

I received a reply from Fox 35... the VP for News no less! They will be adding eye protection in future.

I've found a small problem with my network connection; it wasn't working. After checking the hub, I figured that part out; it was disconnected from the network. So now the network card is blinking, and I'll try connecting again.

No, that did not seem to correct the situation. I'm wondering two things. First, why was my network hub disconnected in the first place, and second has my network card been purged from the hospital list?

The Latter
Checked: it seems that when a laptop is off the network for longer than a week, it will be purged. This is something relatively new I presume. However, if I can dig up the MAC address for that card, it should be re-registered. Then again, after the next lapse, and the next lapse, and et cetera.



I actually received two replies; I'm wondering if the original note was forwarded to someone within their system or that more than one person receives notes posted via the web.


And for the truly curious, the barometric low on Kuma's Playpen, as the center of Jeanne passed just west of us, was 28.86" mercury.

Thank you Fred. It was exciting, and and it was noisy, and and it was, was, we don't care if we do this again because hurricanes (or himmicanes)don't herd well.

But all our goats and cows are OK.

And Boss says "Not blinders, eye protection so some poor schmuck of an OR nurse on call doesn't have to go do emergency surgery on them in the middle of a d* hurricane."
