I'm still trying to recall the name of an artist, who's work is very idylic, always includes young maids not quite nude, and could be a stimulus for some shots of MJ I'm planning at a specific memorial in DC. This leads to other thoughts, as I research things. Frederick Leighton is an artist that BB introduced me to, specifically his painting "Flaming June." Yes, I'd like to work on that one. He also did works in other mythological themes which could inspire:
The Return of Persephone, Electra at the Tomb of Agamemnon, Perseus and Andromeda

Some other names (these all came from a Google search for Leighton)
Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Adolphe-William Bouguereau, J.A.D. Ingres, Gustav Klimt (name rings a bell), John Singer Sargent, John William Waterhouse

But, still no joy for the original search. It is somewhat frustrating to be able to picture in my mind the images I'm looking for, but not recall the name!

I will do that. Gerome isn't ringing the bell (bong!) though. :-) Fortunately there's some time still...

Pre-Raphaelite may be too early. Also too high-fahlootin' as well. It's a good lead, though, and certainly will provide food for um, er, well, photos. :-)

The Classicists (just post pre-Raphaelite... did that make sense?) are another lead.

But I think the particular guy I'm thinking of ain't held in real high regard...

I kept remembering Frederick, and not finding it...
