I read once, and I'm pretty sure it is Heinlein, about the high probability that the really good surgeons enjoy the cutting. Yes, there is pain and blood involved (though really, we try to leave blood where it belongs), but it is all to a socially accepted and approved cause.

So, does this qualify as kink?
