Be it known to all here present that [livejournal.com profile] madshutterbug hereby officially appoints [livejournal.com profile] starcat_jewel Food Porn Queen of November.

All for a gift of beef jerky from Woody's Smokehouse of Centerville, Texas. Oh. My. Gastronome.

In other news, made it home after a bit of a delay getting out of DFW. We boarded on time, and taxied out alllll the way to being in line for take off, then turned around and taxied alllll the way back to "take on some ballast", then taxied alllll the way (yes, as [livejournal.com profile] starcat_jewel commented, things in Texas really aren't close to each other geographically, not even runways and terminals at airports) back out to get into line for takeoff again.

The good news, I suppose, is that this turned a two-hour layover in Memphis into a one-hour layover. We got out of Memphis on time, and touched down in Hoggetowne about right on time.

And in still other news, while I sojourned off to the Big D, Ruthie went to a tack auction. This is of course referring to equippage needed for the newest member of KP Ranch, Sage the Horse. She describes a curious process for an auction. The opening bid is what the seller hopes to get for the item. Then, if no one bids the opening, the amount goes down until someone does bid; at that point things work as I'm familiar with auctions. She got a bridle/reins set (no bit) and a western saddle and blanket, in very good condition and all for under $250 US.

Sage is settling in comfortably. She is no longer concerned about smelly hogs; they're just there. Also, R has been working with her on a lunge line, and Sage's opinion is to do the drill with two repetitions at a walk, three at a trot, one at a walk, and then come up to R and say, "Alright, I've shown you I know how to do this. Now lets go do something interesting, OK?"

After getting home, and recalling you'd not been able to find pictures of one, I did a Google for guitarron, rather than gitarron. I believe you'll find what you're looking for here, amongst other places.

But I'm having somewhat more difficulty trying to find the lyrics to the corrido they played for us, alas. I suppose it would have helped if I'd asked the title, rather than searching for they lyrics or chorus. *G*
