Savings, Shavings, Smavings

I absolutely despise the entire concept of Daylight Savings Time. Perhaps I'm the only one in the world that holds this position. I see it as an incredible waste of effort and time, because we really aren't saving anything. Neither time, nor daylight, nor energy.

It is also a symbol of human arrogance; a statement that Humans control the universe. Right. One of the most extreme of these statements is the historical fact that Great Britain went onto (and maintained, year round, IIRC) double-daylight savings time during the Second World War in order to be an hour ahead of Germany.

Bah. Humbug.

I don't think I know anyone who actually likes DST.

Thanks for the compliment on the icon. I'm quite enjoying it!

GAH! is correct.

I had to call 3 people today to find out which clock was correct, as some self-update, others don't and a few were just wrong.

We've had a bunch of people calling in today just to find out what time it is.

I didn't even realize it WAS daylight savings time until the Sunday Funnies informed me via comic strip that it was. Gotta love the funnies, entertaining AND educational!

And I also hate daylight savings time.

Nah, I love it. It cheers me tremendously to have it stay light later into the evening...although it's like money: it's not a real savings.

Argh hit return too early. Apparently because it confuses the cows.

[identity profile] madshutterbug.livejournal.com 2006-04-02 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh boy HOWDIE does it confuse the cows. And we don't even milk ours.

[identity profile] tassie-gal.livejournal.com 2006-04-02 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
but HOW does it confuse them???

[identity profile] madshutterbug.livejournal.com 2006-04-02 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
The bloody stooopid Two-Legs don't come out to feed us when we're hungry! We stand there and call for them and call for them and call for them because we're hungry, and they don't come out. One day they come out when we're hungry, and the next day they don't come out.

Well, if you want one, yes, but you'll need to look for it on eBay and be the winning bidder. :-)
