Seems We've Made the News

It seems that my part of Baja Jorja made the national news yesterday and today. I've been asked by a couple people what I know about it. Not a lot that you don't. Yes, several of the people involved wound up at my hospital. Not only haven't I taken care of them, even if I had I couldn't tell you much.

Like the rest of those paying any attention to this, I truly would like to know how one can not see a Big, Yellow, Flashing Lights School Bus in time to stop. I'll stay uncommitted for the time being, but I'm saying, I gotta wonder.

Oh my, that was in your neck of the woods? My co-workers and I were reading the news story about it today... my bet is the driver fell asleep at the wheel, or something along those lines. Hard to imagine him being able to miss a school-bus otherwise.

According to the hubby, there were no skid marks and some indication that there may have been an attempt at a swerve after contact. (His source was the paper. I heard about it this morning on the radio.)

The local radio station is trying to get information for donations relating to funeral expenses. If I hear more, I'll pass the info along.

Russ says they're trying to pry loose the guy's cellphone records. If it turns out this happened because he was on the goddamn phone instead of paying attention to his driving... a lot of things are going to change.
