New Years Eve, New Years Day Back At the Ranch

So. Some photographs.

He is extremely fascinated by the kids, and spends most of his time out in the paddock with them. Except when their mothers get concerned about the Wolf Stalking Their Kids.

Ms Henny & Chicks
Two or three weeks hatched, and they are doing very well indeed. They follow their 'mother' (not her eggs, other than she brooded the clutch, they aren't the same breed chickens as she is...) everywhere, respond to her calls, and tuck in with her at night.

Rain today and last night, with some thunder last night. One wouldn't think a 75 lb/34 kg Border Collie could hide himselve completely in the space of an armpit. This proves not to be the case after all...

That is a pretty sizable BC you have there. He is sizable and pretty!

Haven't weighed the blighter recently. May be over-estimating. If so, it's based on him waking me up to hide from that thunder.

Well. Eyeing that pic of Squrrl up there, he does look to be a big boy, and it's not an impossible size. Just surprising. Spike goes maybe 45lbs tops, but he's smaller than he looks - he's got a narrow deep chest like a hatchetfish and a waist I can span with my hands. Most of him's leg, ears and attitude XD

And Squrrl is a bit smaller than his brother. Granted, appearance includes a rather plush coat. I run my hands through that coat; Houdini is a good sized dog.

Even before he tries to hide in an armpit.
