I have a (Motorola) Droid, and it's pretty sweet. Does everything I need it to, as someone that doesn't make calls. Has some nice apps, especially for the camera. Google voice/maps is great. I like that when you plug it into the computer with the USB cable (which also is an easy way to charge it), you can just go straight to the SD card contents and drag/drop things in an out. It's like a mini-personal computer.
If I were you, I'd look at the cheaper Droids - anything HTC related. I love the Motorola, but sometimes I wish I'd looked at those as well. The physical keyboard on the Motorola kills all competitors eventually. Most people don't like it, but it suits me perfectly.
