Oh, I'm sure some go for that much. I've not paid more than $100 US for any watch, old or new. Even with the family history in this one, whether or not I felt I could afford it I wouldn't, most likely, bid on it. What I've got of Gramps is all my memories and those tools I mentioned; he used those. So do I.
However, I don't know what other provenance there is along with this watch, and it does represent a bit of history particularly amongst automotive enthusiasts.
