No argument that folks who live further north where it does get, and currently is, colder than here. They've got it harder for longer.

But any time the temperature is -4C/25F on Teh Ranch, it is just plain bloody cold.

I lived in a house built in 1930's near the farm.
A slat house.
I recorded the inside temp at 44' one night
Outside it was 19' and that was 3 nights in a row.
The water pump froze.
and so did my donkey

Damn, I hate it when that happens. Donkeys just never thaw out properly, just never work the same after that.
