One of the communities I visit on LJ is currently non compos mentos; on my list it shows up with the dreaded strikethrough indicating it's defunct. Y'all won't be able to see it on my list, because it's defunct. I'm not real surprised. It's not a fandom thing, this particular community featured nude photography. It might be back. Might not. We'll see.

Not every day, but some, I need some additional calories in the morning. There's a bank of vending machines not far from my workstation, and I usually get a package of cookies. They aren't great, nor are they bad. I just like the selection combination: C4.

Yah. It's happened once before, and the community came back because the admins worked at it. It's due to posters not following guidelines, but those guidelines are in place essentially for the reason you state.

And Hevun knos we don't want childrun to see teh nekkid, nor to kiss dog noses.

Yeah heaven forbid kids should see or taste anything but the cleaned up and disneyfied version of life! One wonders how mankind has survived all these long centuries with kids just willy-nilly sleeping in the same room as the rest of the family when SEX was going on, or eating things that hadn't been sterilized, or OMIGOD living on dirt floors or EVEN WORSE being expected to sit down and learn Latin at 7 instead of "being a child."

I think we simultaneously expect too much and too little of kids these days. Let's let 'em get outside and get dirty and play with sticks and see naked people and lick dog noses and beer bottles. They'd have a lot more fun that way!
