Hmm...

Shamelessly stolen from a sign on a co-worker's Dilbert Cube wall

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow! What a Ride!"

Um, yeah. I believe I can go with that.

To each his own. I would prefer not to have to have hip and knee replacement surgeries by the time I'm 50.

Well, ya... though I'm already past that. I am a potential candidate for a knee replacement, though no time soon.

Mostly I took it to mean, Make a Good Life. Don't worry about how you're going to look at the end.

Nobody gets off the ride alive.

This was written right after the rather unexpected death of a dear friend.

Which makes it no less true.

I have a poster of that! lol

I remember that entry. And yes, that's what I read into this little poster, too. We get one shot at the ride, folks. And it's meant to be ridden.

Skidding into the afterlife

From my very midlife perspective, I can say that appearances are rather shortlived, and one had better find something else to value if one truly hopes to enjoy the ride! Have seen this quote before and found it fun and truthful, both. Thanks for sharing it again.
