Life's Strange Occurences, or It's A Small World

I would like to send you all on a wee Internet trip. It might seem apropoe of nothing to go here, but there is something significant to me about the site. This is where my brother and his wife pulled Sailing Vessel North Star onto the hard for maintenance just a bit shy of a year ago now. This is where Hurricane Ivan trashed the entire island, though not, fortunately, North Star. This is where they say some nice things about my brother.

And so I just want to send them some really, really good vibes.

Every now and again, it pays to Google on your name for images. John is the first one up.

*steps to the line in front of the fireplace*

Here's to you, Bro. No regrets, Fair winds and following seas.

*tinkling of glass fragments bouncing around in the fireplace*

Ego-surfed myself. :)
Under 'Marji' there's a pic on the first page of me at a Camarilla convention, in character costume.
Also discovered how many Marji's there are out there - very cool.

T., I'm so sorry about the accident. I hadn't heard what had happened or the circumstances; just knew that you had lost a family member. I am terribly sorry. As another sailor, I'm intrigued by his boat and exploits. Did you ever go cruising with them?

I leave tomorrow for our annual week-long scout cruise. Dry Tortugas this time, by way of the Miami Sea Scout regatta on Saturday & Sunday. We should be fine going out of Key West Monday night after Arlene passes by on a Cal 39'. Miami looks like a washout though...

Golly.

It just seems especially cruel to lose someone that suddenly and unexpectedly.

Well, my name is too bloody common, and there aren't any pictures of me on the Internet...but I did find a photo of mine that is being used on a commercial website (I gave permission), and I was surprised to find that a book I wrote like 14 years ago is still in stock and selling at Barnes and Noble.

Unfortunately, I was inexperienced and did the book as work-for-hire, and no one expected them to stay in print, and I've missed 14 years of royalties. On five books. Grrrr.
